  • I thought the QR section was harder compared to the real thing, great practice for hard q's.

Poll Instructions: In this poll, there are 3 choices for each section of the DAT Qvault (though I did lump OC and GC together)--one rating it easier than, one rating it the similar as, and one rating it harder than the real DAT. Please vote on the section(s) that you used and how helpful you found them. Please also add comments below!

I was wondering whether I could get some more thoughts on DAT QVault than what past threads have. I am adding a poll to this thread to make it more quick for some of you, though I would still appreciate comments. My main goal is to make this more informative than what I have seen of past threads. 🙂

For those of you who used DAT Qvault, what did you think of it? Which sections did you think were representative? Which sections did you think were too easy/too hard?

Definitely feel free to not just vote in the poll, but also add comments!

Bio section is pretty good. GC isn't bad, it's just really repetitive/simplistic. OC doesn't seem to be representative of the actual test, but it's still decent practice. I've never used the RC, and the QR seemed good to me. The PAT section seemed fine to me too.

Thanks so much for replying! I think saw what you meant on the GC practice test I took for free on the website.

Do you mean that the OC was too simple and/or that it asks question types that are not going to be covered on the DAT (too many rxns not enough conceptual q's, that sort of thing)?

I've done all the free content on DAT Qvault, and I'm trying to get a feel of whether it's worth investing in/what sections I should spend my time on.

I thought all of the material was very beneficial. The gen chem and ochem were on par with the test for sure and great practice. The biology section was harder score wise, but the questions were right on par with the test, maybe slightly harder.

My GC/OC scores were on par with what I actually got on the test and my bio scores were 4 points lower than what I actually scored on the test.

Bio and QR were fantastic. Lots of the qvault application QR questions were on the actual test. I don't like you pairing GC and OChem. I thought GC reflected the real exam's difficulty very well, but I found qvault's OC to be more difficult (I scored lots of ~17s on it, but got a 19 on the dat). Qvault's RC was ridankulous. I never finished it because I got so frustrated, then ended up scoring a 24. Never even attempted the pat.

Oh wow, I didn't know that...the bio section sounds like it's rough score-wise, but good for training. 👍

Thanks so much! I was trying to make the poll shorter, and since a lot of people lump gc/oc together when talking about Qvault I went that way, but thank you for sharing your opinion on that with me in the comments...I really appreciate it. 🙂

I got something like a 15 in one of the Qvault OC exams a couple days before the real deal. On test day I got a 25.

Everything else was pretty good though. Overall, I recommend it to everyone.

The bio section is great. That is all I would use from the website. It's the original and best

The Bio section was too easy compared to my exam (scored an 18, 3 points lower than my average on Qvault).

I loved the RC of the datqvault! I averaged about 20 on all of the practice exams and on the real thing scored 5 points better. The passages in the practice exams are definitely longer and may be "harder" to read but they are going to prepare you well for sure.
