Had a question about one program I interviewed at thats kind of throwing me for a loop- Geisinger in Danville PA. Overall, I really liked the residents and faculty I met as well as the program overall. Basically, it was one of the best "fits" overall and I'm considering ranking it pretty high.

What's confusing is that it is a new program, and I would be in its 2nd group of residents. Is a program being this new a bad idea (enough to ignore it being a great fit) if you have other options? Geisinger itself has many other residency programs, so they've done this before. Also, CEO of the hospital is a psychiatrist himself so I'm sure the program has support. I'd appreciate everyone's oponion on this, thanks.

I don't really have any advice for you, but figured I'd just add that I really loved it there also and am ranking it highly also. It seemed like the faculty was open to trying to mold the program to what the residents wanted. Which makes me feel more at ease with the thought of going there even though it's new.

Thanks for the reply, It's good to hear other people felt similarly.

I just wanted to bump this to see if anyone else had some advice before I finalize everything on my rank list.
