Hey all!

I want to send my application in this week and was wondering what you guys thought about my list. My stats are not crazy good, but they're consistent with a strong upward trend, and I'm hoping they are good enough? I'm a NY resident as well.

3.57 oGPA
3.48 sgpa
19 AA, 19 TS, 20 PAT with nothing below an 18 (20 bio, 22 RC)
200 hours shadowing clinically and in private practice
Lots of volunteer and EC, also a college athlete and captain of my team
Play saxophone in a local jazz group yadda yadda yadda.

My list (in no particular order)
1. Buffalo
2. Pittsburgh
3. Lake Erie (LECOM)
4. New England
5. Bu
6. Tufts
7. VCU
8. Kentucky
9. Marquette
10. Minnesota (know someone there)
11. UNC (dream)
12. Nova
13. Midwestern

Any suggestions for other schools? Anything I should cut?

Thanks in advance!

VCU and Kentucky are not too OOS friendly. Your stats may be close but be aware of that. NOVA is a slight reach. Everything else is pretty good. If I were you I'd take off VCU and Kentucky, and maybe put in something like Roseman, NYU, or another OOS friendly school.

I'm sure you'll get in somewhere! Your stats look about average, which is good, especially if you have an upward trend. Since you're a NY resident, you have the luxury of multiple in state schools, which you should probably add as well. Not sure if you'd get in to UNC OOS. But if it's your dream, definitely apply. It's my dream, too. I don't think I'll get in either, but if it's $93 vs a lifetime of not knowing, I'd rather spend the extra money now haha. But anyway, I think your list looks pretty good!

Alright awesome, thank you guys. I really want to get in buffalo, in state and cheaper! We will see.

VCU and Kentucky are both about 1/3 OOS. That's pretty good for publics! Are you basing your opinion on the ratio of OOS applicants to enrollees? Louisville is another public that is OOS-friendly, OP.

Huh yeah I guess that's pretty good. Does Kentucky tend to accept OOS students from closer states?

Definitely add buffalo if you're going to apply to UNC it's worth a shot!

Yeah, it's my state school and my stats are very similar to buffalo. Fingers crossed!

agree with dds2b219. I would also think about changing your username for the pure sake of potentially talking about sdn during interviews...
