I'm neither a prospective student for temple's program nor am i a current student. But i did apply last cycle and was accepted. I eventually turned them down but i can give you my thoughts on the program when i visited last year if it helps.
like you said, the modern feel of the facility, i only used the singular tense bc i felt the only building that was modern was the medical library that housed the anatomy lab, was a plus. most of the classes you take, at least when i went this is what i was told, were in the room that you meet in on the second floor of hte pharmacy building, with the plinth tables. overall i felt a lot of the buildings that i saw were a bit run down, and the part of town it was in was definitely a negative for me. i personally felt like their curriculum was teaching to pass the boards, rather than teaching so that we learn the material. they put a lot of emphasis on the fact that they have faculty that write questions for the boards and therefore their tests are similar to the board exams and taht's why they have a high passing rate. this just didn't sit well with me because i felt like if they were teaching so that we could pass the boards, i'm not gonna really know how to apply and manipulate information when i get into a clinic.
as for the interviewing process, i'm not sure they really got to know me. it was a group interview with 9 other pple, and we were each asked a question by a student. mine was how do you deal with stress. and then the professor mediating the interview asked us why we chose temple. that was it. everyone had a different first question from the student, and the students were also writing down what they thought about the applicant. again, i applied last year and so i don't know if they changed the process at all, but thats what it was for me.
i was in the same boat as you, because it was my first interview, and my second one wasn't for another 2 months after i was accepted to temple, ultimately i put down the $300 deposit (i guess they raised the deposit this year) and then turned them down when i got into emory. hope this helps. if you have any other questions, about certain programs/emory (if you're looking at it) feel free to pm me
