LIJ, Winthrop, Stony Brook
St. Luke's, Lenox Hill, Jacobi, Westchester

Stony Brook seemed pretty academic, has all service patients, and decent fellowship placement but it's in suffolk, LI. LIJ has a decent rep. and seemed to have mainly in-house fellowship placement and a good % are private patients. Winthrop seemed more or less the same.

Westchester seemed like they had good faculty teaching, decent fellowship placement but it's in valhalla. Jacobi seemed very busy with good autonomy and great fellowship placemnet but i'm not sure how the teaching is. Lenox hill seemed like a mainly private hospital but residents seemed happy, good clinic, and good in-house fellowship placement, eps. for cards. st. luke's looked like a pretty good program with overall solid training, busy..with decent fellowship placement.

all in all, i'm very confused guys. overall i'm looking for the place with the best clinical training. any input would be much appreciated.

The quality of clinical training in these hospitals is not going differ that much.Jacobi is different from most of the others in that it is a municipal hospital-(like Lincoln,Kings County etc) but with a strong academic-teaching reputation. Its residency program is heavily IMGs.Fellowship opportunities will be fairly comparable between them.Residency is a difficult undertaking..I would pick the place which would make me feel most comfortable in terms of atmosphere and location.
