I was hoping to get thoughts on these programs. I liked them all and have an idea of which ones I like the most but would love to hear others input. I am interested in a number of different specialties so would it is very important for me to go to a place that is well represented in a broad number of subspecialties.

(in no order whatsoever)

OHSU
UPenn
Stanford
WashU
UCLA
Vanderbilt
UCSF
BIDMC

For what it's worth....Current neurology resident at one of your above programs.

1. Penn/Wash U/UCSF
2. BIDMC/Vandy
3. OHSU/Stanford
4. Everything else depending on what you liked

Penn/Wash U/UCSF will allow you to do anything and provide fantastic training/exposure. The volume, number of faculty, resources is superior. Just pick where you had the best "fit/vibe" among those.

Thank you very much! Out of curiosity, what makes you place Vandy so high? Don't get me wrong, I was really impressed with them and liked them a lot but most people don't seem to view them as "upper tier."

You'll see that everyone has a pretty different opinion once you get outside the top programs. Top 5 or so programs aside, I thought Vandy was in a great city, nice people/residents, good opportunity, excellent EMR, large catchment area, strong in many specialities (not just neuro), etc. I think within your list there is a huge difference between programs in #1 and everyone else. I didn't interview/apply to Stanford so I can't give much more info for you on that. If you have any other spec. questions feel free to PM me but don't take all of our opinions too seriously in your rank list.
