18 yo Male no prior med hx, no family hx of major systems disease, presenting with isotonic muscle spasms that began 6 months ago in his left hand - started occurring in his arm, then jaw, and now has been affecting his right hand. The spasms last b/n 20-30 seconds and occur once to several times a day nearly every day. He has had no head trauma or major changes in psychological/physical behavior besides these episodes. Patient says he feels confused and has a numb feeling after the episodes are over. He can't move or do anything while the sapsms are occurring.
I am leaning towards Jacksonian type seizures, but need to figure out if there are any sure signs that I am right or wrong. Any suggestions?
