Thoughts on tie for interview?

With a navy suit and white shirt. Conservative enough? I’ve heard the preference is solid and not red so I wasn’t sure

If you have a Navy blue suit and a white shirt, just wear a blue-shaded tie, with small polkadots or some Non- distracting pattern.
If the interviewer notices the tie, it’s probably not a good thing. Don’t let the tie distract from your interview

I'm going to tell you a secret. When you sit across from me in a live interview, I get a good look at your tie. In a Zoom interview on my laptop, your tie is about an inch long and an 1/8" wide and I could no more tell you what it looked like than I could tell your eye color on a zoom. I'm just not getting that close to the screen to pick out details.

I wore a red striped tie at my first 3 interviews and 2 of them were rejections no wl. I switched my tie to a red dotted tie and got accepted at the next 2. Lesson is wear a red dotted tie

Compared to some of the pathologic interviewee dress stories you've told here, the dragon sounds almost conservative!
