Hey guys,

I am planning to take step 2 ck towards the end of the year. I am trying to develop a routine but been struggling. Do most students use UWORLD as they start their 3rd year? Meaning during IM rotations, they do IM questions from uworld? Or they use it during their DEDICATED study time.

Originally, i think was thinking about starting with Kaplan HY program with kaplan qbank OR Usmle Rx and then use uworld for last few months? Thoughts?

I think most people do use uworld to study for the shelf exams (especially IM). If you put forth decent effort in studying for the shelf exams and score well on them, you can get away with just using uworld during your dedicated study time. If you didn't do that great on step 1 or your shelf exams, then you will probably need more resources.

I used Pre-test and Case-files which worked awesomely for everything but Surgery (often there would be almost word for word questions out of them on the shelf) and saved UWorld for step II. I have a tendency to really remember questions, and was afraid if I relied on a second runthrough of UWorld for step 2, I would be remembering the question/answer pair and not have to rely on remembering the concept and reasoning it out. Ended up Honoring everything other than Surgery that way and increased from step 1 significantly using pretty much only Uworld. But that's n=1.

Well, redsox do suck. Varitek hid behind his mask like a girl and still got his a** handed to him but the sox did get the last laugh. So i guess its all worked out.
