OK, so with the influx of new threads with uninteresting, dull topics that have been answered a million times before, and for all the little individual scenarios that all the new members feel are so important that they have to start a new thread for them, I give you this thread.

Here is a place where you can ask all of your questions without fear of being flamed and where actually useful people will check to give you an honest answer. Rest assured that you will have people answering with much experience in the application process. If you do not know how to use the search function or feel you have some individual scenario that can't be answered by previous posts, then feel free to ask here. Good luck new members and we will help you, so don't be scared to ask. In this way we can hopefully consolidate the influx of new similar threads into 1 question forum.

I have a feeling this is not true.

This is another one of those dumb threads. As you can see its already off to a poor start and is doomed to fail as Blais said.

Only because of cynical naysayers like you, who probably enjoys shooting them down.

I was thinking something for all the unique scenarios that seem to betaking up the board that can't be answered by any previous posting. Like, "I'm waiting for my third MCAT and my pi won't turn in my letter for 44 days, but should I submit now or wait for another lunar cycle?"

Titling the thread "Thread for New Members and their dumb questions" is not going to get new members to post here you realize...

These threads are always great in theory, but the problem is maybe 1 or 2 new members will actually bother to post here, the rest will open up new threads as they normally do.

The other thread people prefer has the same wording about stupid questions.

They should make a rule that new members aren't allowed to start new threads until they reach a certain number of posts. This would solve so many problems and force them to learn how to use everything.

Thats why the format of that linked thread is nice. If someone makes a new thread about a re-hashed topic, you simply link them to that post and details on the other questions in that post. Stops that new poster from asking any of those other questions. Also stops threads from becoming troll bait.

Yes, but that thread actually has useful content in it 😎

ok, geez, I was more referring to these unique scenario questions that everybody has to ask.

Warning to new members viewing this: ask you can see the natives are quite friendly

Here's a new member who knows how to use the search function! 👍

:laugh:Baha. That would be quite the accomplishment if I were actually a new member. I have been a member for a long time, but forgot my password for my old account and email address I signed up with.😎

Oh, gotcha.

They should make a rule that new members aren't allowed to start new threads until they reach a certain number of posts. This would solve so many problems and force them to learn how to use everything.

Then they would just thread hijack and bump unnecessary threads. There has to be some sort of happy medium though, no?

Why do engineers not allow robots to cry? Humans need to cry---we should program robots to allow them to cry.

It is one of the worst things in the world--and I have trouble sleeping every night knowing my AI brothers cannot cry.

I hate this world.
