Would it be a good idea to start this thread on faculty members we will be interviewing with at each program and a brief tour on their field of interest, research etc?

Have you heard of the internet? Most faculty(if not all) can be searched and you can either see what they are interested in right on their own department website or see what papers they have written etc. You don't need this spoon fed to you by other people, but just in case...

Internet???? Oh yes! I remember that vaguely! The point is I am not expecting to be spoonfed, neither do I have any desire to do that to others! But if someone already knows something, it doesn't harm to share with others! It is not esoteric knowledge! This is particularly true for candidates with multiple interviews! Searching takes time. If I post about place A, and somebody posts about place B, it saves time for both of us and of others as well! That's all! And by the way, may I remind you to keep your attitude to yourself? Thank you

Dont know about the creepers feeling, but I tend to agree with the OP. Perhaps those at programs can mention about their own faculty since they'll know their interests much more intimately than a net search will expose.

Plus I remember when I was interviewing that I wouldn't have time to read up on all places, so I'd print the websites off and'd be reading on the plane, in some cases, on the cab over to the interview! Does tend to happen when you go back to back (esp. in the middle to late season)
