UOP is a great school. Harvard is one of the worst schools to attend if you want to be a clinical dentist. If you want to do academia then hey go H, but honestly Harvard has no clinics how can you be a good clinical dentist without clinics?

Desi is absolutely right. I talked to some of Harvard students
who are currently in their program. First two years, you spend
with medical students learning about whole human body
science, not much about dentistry. In the third year, the clinical
training is not really that great. Harvard is great name for
medicine not for dentistry. I do not feel like spending two
years and more than $100,000 for learning something that
I may not use ever again. I am also convinced that my home
state school UW is same as Harvard, may be a little better.
I visited UOP and other Dental schools on west coast and
I am convinced that UOP is the best Clinical program in the West.
All the best to all my friends.
UOP here I come...San Francisco here I come!

Second, the three-year program sounds appealing to me for the obvious reason of getting out sooner. Does anybody have a negative aspect of that to offer?
Tuition is pretty high. Nearly continuous school. But otherwise I hear that it's a great school. UOP doesn't have very many post-grad programs (they may only have ortho, I'm not sure) so all the cases go to the pre-doc students rather than having the most difficult cases going to post-doc students.

Congrats! I would go to UOP in a heartbeat if I had the opportunity. Three year program with excellent clinical experience, and everybody who goes there is so happy with the school. Alumni from the school seem to be doing very well from what I have heard.
Congrats to all those being accepted to UOP as you are going to be one of the best clinical dentists upon graduation. You'll get your own hand piece and simulation lab station on the first day of school, and you'll see your first patient by the end of the first year. Since I prefered a strong clinical training, I decided to go to UOP instead of UCSF and UCLA dental schools last year. Now my first year is almost over and I'm glad I make a right choice.
