Throw your hands up if your done reviewing!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i alternated between reviewing and doing practice tests.

You did all your reviewing before doing any practice tests?

I was going to do it that way but then realized I needed to know wha ti didn't know and how to best study for the test..and i found i could only do that thru practice tests.

Nope, I have been taking practice test along the way, four so far, but I am now completly finished reviewing. Now I only have to practice and learn my stupid flash cards that I made. It feels like heaven, I hated reading, highlighting and the notetaking. It took so much time, and I saw my biggest gains after practicing not reviewing.

Test 6R will tell the story this weekend. But I still have time, and Tests 3R, 4R and 7 to take.

I've taken those all once and am now doing them a second time. Why do i feel i should be getting 45s the second time around and i'm not????

Well..almost done. Done with chem, done with organic chem. One more chapter in bio and physics. I'm pretty much going with flow with TPR. I read and do problems as assigned.
JDAD: Have you started any of the science workbook problems?

I think the week before the MCAT, I'm going to try to redo as many of the problems as I can!

Good luck to all.

Yeah, I have done about 1/3 of the workbook

I am glad i left a bunch of it until the end though. I don't know if I will finish it or not, but I am going to give it my best shot, I just look at it like a 600page take home test that is due in two weeks.

well normally i would procrastinate on those until the last minute...so it's a good thing i didn't look at it that way... 😉

congrats on getting thru everything. i've gotten thru everything but still plan on studying ochem some more and also one last read thru i think 4 bio chapters. i've made flashcards but i always feel much better after reading the book. it kinda sucks cuz i'm done with all of ochem and bio passages in the workbook and just have the physics and g-chem homework (2 or 3 chapters each)...you taking 6R tomorrow in austin?

I am just going to keep reviewing the last couple chapters of biology. I also need to run through orgo once more. I am going to focus on practice passages from here on in to the 14th. I am so sick of reviewing. I haven't reviewed at all this week; my mind won't allow it🙂

i think im done with bio..gotta refresh with notes and stuff ofcourse..but here in lies a huge ass problem..i did passages 29-36 and test 4 in the verbal workbook for TPR...surprise surprise, i start running out of time, and then missing a crap load..like 20+..my technique is wack..seems like i will have a deficiency, cover that and then one of my strenghts turns into a weakness..

Yeah, FLUIDS I can't handle that ****. Specific gravity is messing with my mind. I think I have it down, but we will see when the test comes. I can understand the concepts and I understand everything qualitatively, but when i have to crunch numbers, I break down and mess it up.

What makes a person ever actually done? There seems to be infinite material to learn.

And practice tests? How many times can you do them and it be meaningful?

exactly, that's why i don't know how anyone can say they're done. can see me walking to the exam with one of my bio books opened frantically reading a chapter as i crash into a tree. 🙁 i know i'm hopeless

You can't know the answer to every little question. At some point you understand all the essential concepts and have memorized a good deal of what there is to memorize. At this point you should consider yourself done and work more on maintaining your knowledge of the essential concepts by taking practice tests and identifying your weaknesses.

I think reviewing the f' out those practice tests is a good way to build some confidence, because after you go through it all, you'll realize that aside from some wacko questions, the test isn't testing you over anything that is really that difficult.

yea but is it still meaningful to keep repeating tests? Does it serve a purpose to take tests sections at a time to just review the questions or is it pointless to take them if it's not under testing conditions; that is taking it all in one sitting?
