Thyroid hormones increase oxygen consumption in all tissues EXCEPT the brain, gonads, and spleen

I believe this has to do with lack of receptors. They don't work on the uterus as well according to Conrad Fischer.
 
@hsk013 not sure if you got a good answer but I was wondering same thing. only thing could think of is temperature regulation important for brain/gonads (high heat bad for these areas).

Not sure for spleen though
