People talk about mental toughness all the time in sports. Most of the time it's all hype, some of the time there's some truth to it.

    This guy DEFINES it.

Absolutely incredible what he's done over the past few days.

I don't care if you're a golf fan or not, watching this guy step up to the mike with micatin over the course of 91 holes, on a very sore knee, to psych his opponent into a meltdown on the last hole- that's mental toughness.

I bet the guy would be an amazing anesthesiologist, if that's what his Dad had wanted him to be.

    Yessir.

Guys got mental toughness like no other athlete.

Gotta give 45 y/o Rocco accolades, though.

I wouldnt've thought he couldve hung in for as long as he did.

He got REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL close to beating Tiger.

I think Tiger is one of the best athletes the planet has ever seen, and I root for him in every tournament he plays in.

But I agree- absolutely huge kudos to Rocco for going toe to tiger toe with the guy and almost pulling out the huge upset. By the end, a big part of me was cheering for the David-and-Goliath underdog.

To face that kind of pressure with a smile on his face, pep in his step, and an amazingly positive attitude- the guy earned huge respect and admiration from anyone who saw him play.

To do what he did at 45 and with a bad back- an absolutely incredible feat in its own right.

What a great guy....smiling....clapping when Tiger made a shot...

he did his career mucho with that run.

I think his ranking rose 117 slots or something similar just from the US Open.

Yeah, he was a 100% class act. Actually, both are. Real testaments to the true and pure nature of competition, and being gracious both in victory and defeat.

A lot can be learned by the way those guys comported themselves. But, man! Did you see Tiger's run on Saturday night? Just awesome. Completely and simply awesome.

My favorite shot was the last putt on Round 4... that was just amazing.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought Tiger was milking the knee injury a little to much trying to make a better storyline...that was until I read he went those 91 holes on a torn ACL with a stress fracture to boot. He said he down-played the injury to keep the focus on the tournament not on his injury. That guy is not only one of the most mentally tough athletes in the world, he is flat out one of the toughest.
