Guys, I just wanted to get your thoughts on this. See if you all are experiencing the same..

One of the clinics I work in has had a lot of frustration because doctors are demanding that their patients get scheduled immediately. The clinic has one PT and one PTA with the occasional second PT able to come in. The office typically sees about 13-15 patients a day when there is only one clinician and a little over 30 when they are both there. They each work four 10-hour days a week and occasionally come in on the 5th day as needed.

These doctors have expectations that their new patient be seen sometimes the next day or even occasionally the same day!

Anybody else seeing this same problem? Anything you've done to alleviate the situation?

Actually, my expectation is that I am able to work a patient in in 24 hours, or preferably on that same day. With another clinician or two in the building I have found that it is usually possible. It is good customer service to both the patient and the physician.

What has your clinic found to be difficult about the situation? Is it the number of new patients that need to be worked in on a daily basis? The amount of time it takes to perform the initial exam? The inefficiency of the paperwork associated with a new patient?
