Hi I'm a current P3, and I'm still not exactly sure if I want to do a residency or not. I know that with the saturation going on and more pharmacy schools appearing out of nowhere, it will probably be my best interest to pursue residency. However, I've an APPE set up from January 9 to February 17, 2017 abroad, and I can't really fly back during this time period. Is it possible to just have Skype interviews with the programs? Or do on site interviews still exist in late February (if I reschedule). Thanks for all the tips and pointers in advance!

I had 1 interview this season where my flight was cancelled due to weather. The program offered to do a skype interview if I couldn't reschedule, but I didn't want to do that. I think it's important to check out the facility where you could be spending a year at, and meet faculty in person to determine if it's a good fit for you. I had 2 interviews at the end of February, but most people I know were done by mid-February.

To be clear and worse case scenario, most (not all) places will only do onsite interviews so it's possible. As the previous post says, can you be 100% sure that you would want to stay with a place for one year if you haven't been there and have it pass your gut check feeling? How bad do you want a residency, enough to change that out of country APPE to another time or stay in the US altogether. You could also take a year off and then apply the next year if the Skype interviews do not work out.
