Time Frame for LoR Request. HELP please!

I have a situational question about LoRs that has me wondering what I should do. If I were to begin to shadow a dentist for a while, and I don't apply until a year later, when should I ask for the LoR? How soon would be too soon to ask for one?

As soon as you feel comfortable enough with the dentist to ask. I'm shadowing two right now, and everyday they say "If you need anything let us know, we'll be more than happy to write you a letter."

I've only been going to that office to shadow for a few months, but I've been going to that dentist for treatments and checkups for years!

So the date which the letter was written will not matter?

No, I don't think the date would matter as long as it's fairly recent.
