Hello,
for those of you who used destroyer, on average, how long does it take to go through the book once? i'm planning to go through it 3 times about 7-10 days each time. is that enough time? your feedbacks will be greatly appreciated.

You have:
~210 G-chem questions
~210 O-chem questions
300+ Bio questions
~150 QR questions

I did 30 questions from each section/day. That means:

G-chem will take you ~7 days
O-chem will take you ~7 days
Bio will take you ~10 days
QR will take you ~5 days.

So, if you really sit down and invest the required time, you can very wel finish destroyer in ~ a week (give or take).

First time took me 10 days. I went over every question perfectly. Circle the really tough ones. 2nd time I went over the whole thing again even the easy ones to make it stick, took me 1 week again. Third time I breezed through the easy ones and focused on tough ones, took me 5 days and I remembered every question except 5 out of the whole book. From that point to test day review daily 1. Roadmaps, 2. Tough questions.
A week before the test I did a final fast review of the whole destroyer which too me a day per section ~ 20 hours total. At that point I pretty much knew all destroyer -even the tough ones. I took the test full knowing I knew everything to do well, which I did.

I did only destroyer for 4 days straight and finished it. LIKE NOTHING BUT DESTROYER. the book was literally attached to me. Take ur time with it. The book is made to try and broaden the scope it tests u on so that they can cover more material. Like one question will test like at least 4-6 concepts, which helped me alot. But its destroyer there will be questions you hit ( about plant hormones lol) that will leave u frustrated.

Hi everyone,

So I'm having trouble recalling how to do Gen Chem 🙁 I have Destroyer and am working on it now, and am hoping that if I review it enough times, I'll slowly get better and retain the concepts.

That being said, I'm afraid to put so much weight on Destroyer in case the Gen Chem section of Destroyer isn't a good representation of the actual DAT. My question for you guys: what do you think of the Gen Chem section of Destroyer and how much does it parallel the actual exam?

Do you think the Gen Chem section of Destroyer is too easy, too hard, comprehensive, doesn't go over all of the concepts you need. etc. I know flukes can happen and it really depends on a lot of factors sometimes, but I guess I was hoping for a general opinion.

Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. While I'm here, what are your thoughts on the Orgo section of Destroyer? Comprehensive, too easy, too hard ...

Everything in destroyer is an excellent representation of the real DAT other than maybe QR, too many trigs and geometry. The only difference is the calculations for gchem are more complicated.

I've been doing one section a day, it surprisingly doesn't take that long to finish. I thought it would take at least weeks.

Thanks bbwreckerz. When you say that you think the GChem calculcations are more complicated, do you say that because you think the numbers on the real DAT are harder so you have to round and do a lot more tricks or because the concepts are more difficult?

I think the poster means that the calculations are more difficult in Destroyer than they are on the DAT. I've heard that on the DAT the answers are often left as an equation rather than computed out.
