I want to register for taking the pcat in January, however I won't have all the prerequisites completed until this summer (I have yet to take physics II, organic II w/lab, and the anatomy/physiology sequences).

When does the pharmacy school year start? Is it the same as dentistry, (fall spring?)

i've been flip flopping with dental and pharm for a long time but i decided to just get on the ball (not getting any younger huh?) and go with my gut feeling (pharm school)

Why does pcat ask me for three schools to send transcripts to during registration? What's the point as I feel like I'm not applying to pharmacy schools anytime soon (or should I be?)

Please if you could redirect me to a thread that explains this whole process that would be great, anything from someone who has gone through this process and I can learn from their experience, even better!

Pharmacy school only starts in the fall.

I am guessing you aren't applying for fall 2013 admission. Most schools want the science pre-req done by the end of spring before you start pharmacy school. The other pre-req done by the time school starts, so you can take English or economics in the summer.

The PCAT asks you for three schools because three schools are included in the price. Pharmcas is the main pharmacy school application, so send it to them. And then find two schools that don't use Pharmcas that you were thinking about and send it to them also. All of that information can be found on the Pharmcas school pages.

If I'm registering for the Pcat to take in january, but I'll be applying for january 2014, do I still put three schools now?

Also, I'm a little bit confused, so to clarify...it would technically be a waste to choose a pharmcas school to directly send the scores to? I just send it to pharmCAS-Watertown, Watertown , MA and the other two to non pharmcas schools?

There's no pharmacy schools that I know of that begin Spring semester. You'll be applying 2013-2014 cycle for Fall 2014.

You'd have to order and resend the PCAT to PharmCAS when you are applying next cycle (opens early June 2013). I'm not sure if the non-PharmCAS schools will keep your scores for the following cycle, so you'd have to contact those schools individually.

I put Pharmcas, Wilkes, and Rutgers because Wilkes and Rutgers don't use Pharmcas. So you would be applying for fall 2014. You would have to resend your PCAT score to Pharmcas anyway because they start a new application cycle every year. You could just take the July test to give yourself more time to prepare and save $20 from resending the score, but you shouldn't study too long and it is only $20.

I look this PCAT Jan 2012 and I'm applying this cycle for Fall 2013 admissions class. I put down PharmCAS and a non-PharmCAS school to send my scores, even though I didn't have an application open then. So, when I started my application this past June, I still had to resend my scores and pay the $20something fee anyway
