Timeline for recommendations?

Are these due at the same time I submit my AMCAS application (will my application be incomplete without them), or do they just need to be in by the time my secondaries are completed? I already asked most of my recommenders, but I didn't give them a specific deadline. Thanks SO much!

i'm curious about this also, but im pretty sure you need em by secondary time. i am looking at shemarty's mdapps profile where she has a timeline

she starts requesting LORs in april 1 but only finalizes the packet in early july, by which time she has already finished some secondaries...

LORs are generally considered part of your secondary application, so you won't send them out with your primary app. If you tell your writers that you need them in early to late July, that should give them plenty of time to get them written, and still have them to you soon enough to complete your applications early.
