Hey guys,

So I spent about a month and a half studying for the DAT this past November/December and took it for the first time in January. Overall I'm not too pleased with my scores because I know I can do better, but they're not too bad for the amount of time I spent preparing I guess. Anyways I know I need to retake them BUT the next time I can get around to truly focusing isn't until this semester is over because I want to get a kick ass GPA to pull up my cum/science. I want to be on the ball and get my applications in first thing in June to optimize my chances. So I guess my question is if I apply to 15-20 OOS friendlies in June with my current scores, study like crazy all summer and retake early-mid August will that give me enough time to have my second test scores sent and still be extended interviews for this coming fall? Or is August early enough that I can just wait until I retake to start sending in applications? My first time was 17AA/17TS/18PAT

Any feedback greatly appreciated!

It depends on how strong the rest of your application is, but in general I'd say you should start studying end of this semester and retake the DAT in the summer. It also depends on your financial situation, because I wouldn't gamble 15-20 application fees, but you never know.

You should still apply when the cycle opens just to get your app approved and then you can submit it when your new DAT scores get entered. August isn't too late by any means.
