So i submitted my applications online for all nine schools this Monday. Everything was verified by AACPMAS and mailed out to my schools by Wednesday, including LOR's. I have only received correspondence from Kent and Des Moines stating they received my app and will review it shortly. How long does it typically take for schools to review and either offer an interview or flat out say no thanks?

Don't you love the waiting game?

I would imagine that you will start hearing from schools in about 3-4 more business days. You willl probably get an invite from Kent the fastest. They invited me the same day they got my app.

gah, this wait is crap. reminds me of the month wait for MCAT scores X(

alright this getting ridiculous. my apps went out last wednesday from aacpmas and only des moines and kent have sent me an email stating they received my application. none of the other schools have. what gives? what is the typical policy? do they not let applicants knw upon receiving applications?

The first thing I received was one week after I sent everything in (besides LOR's), and those were 2-3 interview invites. Kent and Scholl said they received my app a couple days after that. Still didn't hear from Barry. I e-sent my app in on 1/18. In other words, you're fine.

I'm submitting by Friday and am nervous as well that I'm so far behind the eight ball so at least you have me beat!

Lol nah ur fine. I was told apply before April to be high consideration. I am nervous to see what I get

Where are you from bubba? Why did you submit so late?

I'm almost for with my personal statement. Do we need to explain why our grades are low even though it didn't ask? I'm waiting on my transcripts. Once the app received them will it notify me?

well just an update, i received my interview invite today from western. and i know they do not ask u to explain low grades but you should make an attempt to do so, perhaps in ur Personal statement.

and as far as notifying u, as it seems not every school will. only some.

I don't want to be that rude guy, but did you really just sign up for this forum JUST so you could ask this question? You have 9 posts and 6 of them are on your own thread in which you are acting like these schools have ZERO other applications to look at.

There are MD and DO students that would kill for the response speed that DPM schools give their applicants. But you should be grateful that you even get responses back within a week. My cousin who applied to DO and MD schools said it took month plus to get responses back. You posted on a Friday, the next person said wait 3 to 4 more business days. Today is TUESDAY, that is just two extra business days.
Not like the school looks at your GPA and MCAT score and immediately send you "Congratulations, you are on to the next round for Podiatry school. Schedule your interview"

If it was that simple I think they would have their work cut out for them. See in those 7 hours between the posts you got an acceptance for an interview at one school. Took 7 business days to get your application processed and accepted by a school. Think about how long it took you to get accepted to your undergrad school. I remember mine, applied Monday October 6th 2008, what was suppose to be considered early enrollment period time only to find out that my P.O.S HS counselor forgot to stamp and send out every single students applications for the next two days and had to explain to over 20 students applying to MSU that we won't get early enrollment b/c she couldn't do her job correctly. I got my letter of acceptance from MSU on December 24th, CHRISTMAS EVE. Took 55 business days from when MSU's office received my application to the day they sent out the letter. And even Grand Valley was about 35 business days and they have about 7,000 less applications to look at per year than MSU!

So waiting it out seems like the best idea at this point. I hope this doesn't get deleted for being "too critical" of a response.

i did not find ur statement critical nor rude. perhaps u misinterpreted my concern. i was told or read in many threads that people got notifications that schools have received apps within 2-3 business days of application from AACPMAS after verification, not interview invites nor acceptance but notification of receipt. and considering that one of the purposes of this forum is to attain information and follow it based on the experiences of others, i was concerned as to why i didnt receive such an notification for my app. perhaps something was missing who knows, bad things happen. and after hearing from posters such as patchadams or SLCpod, i am now waiting. understood?

Another factor to consider is that MD/DO applications have passed or are coming up soon, so applicants who have not gotten in yet might be starting to submit their apps to pod schools. This could drag things out longer then some of us who applied back in the fall.

This assumption is based on a convo I had with someone from Kent's admissions back in August. I was told they do see a spike in apps once DO and MD cycles start coming to an end.

Bubs, if you are getting too stressed about your app status contact the schools. I had to contact Scholl and found out that they didn't get one of my LOR's.

Deleon, I wouldn't mention anything negative in your personal statement. If the school is concerned about your grades then they will ask you about it in your interview. A personal statement is a chance to show all your strengths and show the admissions that you have great character.

GOOD LUCK WITH INTERVIEWS BUBBA!

thanks bro! have u interviewed anywhere already?

That's true I guess I'll take it out but it's not like they don't notice them so shouldn't I address the elephant?

If they can see the elephant then why bring it up again? It doesn't make sense to write about your weakness or doubts in a personal statement.

Hey guys, so out of the 9 schools I applied to, I've gotten interviews at 4 but haven't heard a word from the other ones. Should I call them for an update? Even if its already a rejection I just wanna know.

How long did it take for your application to reflect your transcripts being delivered? That's what I'm waiting on t submit.

2 days? Hmm it said they were mailed but I guess it could take awhile to deliver them

Again, if you had sent them out lets say Thursday it may take a while based on where you live and where you are sending it to. There was the massive snow storm across the entire country. And also business days vs. actual days. A little patience wouldn't hurt...for another two days.

Thanks, I checked again and one has been uploaded and finally got a hold of the other school and they said they sent it so I'm almost there. Few finishing touches to this essay!
