Hello,

So due to some unforeseen circumstances I probably won't submit my AAMCs application until July 1 or a day or two before. With that I don't think it will be verified until a few days after (however, I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take). I keep hearing it's best to turn in the application by July 1, is that true?

Due to personal reasons it may be best for me to wait until July 10th. Since it will probably be verified after July 1st anyway will it matter much at all if I waited a week or two? So basically I'm asking if verification July 5th (assuming it takes a few days for verification) is substantially better than July 15.

Thank you for any advise

I would suggest to turn it in ASAP just because it may take longer than you think. I submitted mine on the first day (June 2) and I wasn't verified until June 8.

If you submit on July 1, it could take 3-4 weeks to become verified.

Thank you both for the response. Yikes it does take a while. My question is then, will I be at a significant disadvantage if mine is verified mid-July compared to those who's application were verified the beginning of July?

From the consensus here on SDN, June and July are still considered "early," but when you start going into August and September, that's when the boundary between early and late becomes more prominent. So mid-July is fine.

If you submit in mid-July then you probably won't be verified until mid-August. If you have your secondaries pre-written then it probably isn't a big deal.
