I was trying to gauge how long I should subject myself to this post-secondary anxiety before I just give up hope on a program and a question popped up. To anyone who may know: do schools generally notify you after secondary submission if they are going to reject you? I submitted all of my 2ndaries mid-late july (might be kinda late, but that's the pace I could keep up with while working) and received a couple II's but am more or less in the waiting game to see if I'm going to get any more. Obviously school's owe me absolutely nothing, but being graced with a rejection would actually be such a mercy and I wanted to see if I can expect that. I've also recently come into some wealth (birthday money) so I'm also trying to see if it might be worth it to apply to some more schools since i can now afford to do that and eat this month.

Many (most?) schools unfortunately keep most applicants in limbo until all the interview slots are filled.

Would submitting mid-late july be considered late? Seems like that timeline is pretty early compared to most applicants

Idk, i think a lot of folks who have all their stuff in submit within a few days of receiving their secondaries. I submitted max 2-2.5 weeks after. Not strictly late, just later in a relative sense, considering everything else was in (MCAT, CASPer, Recs).

I'm in the same timeline as you, but from what I read, I believe we're way ahead compared to the majority of application. My stats aren't as strong as yours so no II yet, but hoping for some love!

Being complete in mid-late July is early. Applications are not read on a first-come first-serve basis.
