I have a couple of questions, I will be applying next cycle.
I would like to take a lighter course schedule this spring and then take the MCAT (1st time) in mid to late may. My fear is that I may might not get an ideal score and I know that it takes a month to get scores back so it would be June by then and if I need to retake I wouldn't have scores back until Aug or Sept. I know that applying early is best but what exactly is considered early? If I were to submit my AACOMAS app can you update scores, my guess would be no? Also how important is it to have all of the pre-reqs done before applying?

I did something similar to what you are talking about. Last spring I took only 6 credits, and took the MCAT April 27th 2013. Studied the whole semester, and took it in the midst of finals week. I got my score back a week before AACOMAS opened, and submitted my apps the day it opened. So everything worked out for me. I'm just letting you know that it is possible to do it, and get accepted (as I did this month). That being said, if you wish to study more, it is always a good idea to have your AACOMAS app completely done an just wait for your score. It is also possible to submit your app, and schools you sent it to generally won't do anything until your MCAT comes in. Also, are you talking about just the courses that the colleges are looking for for acceptance? Then it is not important. Because many applicants haven't completed all the pre-reqs before applying since they generally have a whole year left of college.
