Hello world,
I've been browsing this forum for over 6 months now trying to collect information, but this process still isn't super clear to me. I really want to apply in the 2018 cycle. Below is kind of where I'm at. Is this a sensible goal or do I need to move this back a year?
I'm trying to get a plan going for a career switch. I'm currently out of country as a science teacher, and I'll be moving back mid July in order to switch. Between retakes for low grades and not having taken courses I'll need the following next year; Chem1&2(retake and first time), Ochem 1&2(retake and first time), Bio 2(retake), psych and sociology(new), and genetics(retake). I also have to take the MCAT of course.
With that being said. I have a few questions about possibilities.
1. Is it an awful idea to audit an online chem 1 course this spring and then take chem 1&2 concurrently so I finish ochem 2 over summer (2018)?
2. What is the latest I can take the MCAT and apply to a cycle? Can I take it August/September and still apply?
3. I've heard mixed reviews; does anyone do well studying for the MCAT over longer periods of time? (I.e. The next year and a half).
The real end goal is trying to put a plan in motion that would make it possible to apply in the 2019 cycle. Is this at all possible?
I really appreciate the help. Have a wonderful day!
