how do you guys do in terms of timing for this section? This section takes wayyy long for me than it should... around 40 minutes for the 30 questions. Is this normal?
It's not even that it's hard, I got a 23 on achiever 1, and 25 on achiever 2 (i did natural science but left ochem and bio blank), but it took me about 35 minutes on achiever 1 and 45 minutes on achiever 2. If I did it in the 30 minutes needed, I would have probably gotten 14s.
There seems to be wayyy too much odd calculations. I get like 25+ on the math sections and always finish with time to spare, but chem calculations are just way too tedious. One of the problem was like find the percent yield. They gave you the actual yield. then said like 5 g of S2 and 12 grams of N2S2O8 or some crazy crap like that and the product was N2SPO4. (all elements are made up, but the molar mass ended up being like 180g/mol ie very large!). then u had to do long division to find moles! at least 15 out of the 30 questions were long calculation problems like this... what the heck. each one of these takes like 2 minutes...
people always complain about running out of time doing simple math problems... but yet no one seem to have trouble on these gchem calculations?
