Hello all!

Quick dumb question:

If you have spare time left from the Chemistry portion of the DAT, does it carry over into the PAT section? Or is the time separated?

I tend to breeze through bio/chem but once I hit PAT, it takes me a loong time.

Sorry for the dumb question 🙂

No. You take the SNS portion all at the same time in 90 mins, which averages to be 30 mins/section. But you can not go back to a different portion of the exam, such as QR back to RC. What you can do is strategize your time management for SNS. For instance, I know I'll need extra time on the gen chem. So my strategy is to do bio, orgo, then gen chem, as I can usually answer those with 5+mins to spare each. This will give me an extra 10ish mins on the gen chem portion. SNS and PAT are the only sections you can strategize like this for.

So the science section goes in order, bio first then ochem and gen chem?

I mean you can go through the questions until you get the section you want to start with.
Right. I know once you leave SNS, you can't go back. But I can do bio, skip gen chem, do orgo, go back to gen chem, correct?

Science goes Bio, Gen Chem, Orgo - all 100 questions in a total of 90 minutes. 40 for bio/30 gen chem/30 orgo. But like others have said, you can click through the sections if you wanted to tackle one of the chemistries first (I recommend at least trying to answer the questions you're skipping if you know it right away! Or at LEAST mark SOMETHING before clicking to the next page, last thing you want to do is running out of time and not having anything marked for X amount of questions because you wanted to skip topics!)
