I usually run out of time when I read the passages and answer the questions. Is there any recommendation to get my timing down? I have heard of reading the questions first and going into the passage to find that specific part. Does that actually work?

I'll assume you are talking about VR passages. Looking at the questions first do not help since it's impossible to remember what every question is asking. I would just try practice reading the passage faster so you have more time to answer the questions. You don't have to completely understand the passage the first time around since you'll probably have to go back to it to answer some questions. Just read fast and get the main gist of it. Practice, practice, practice!

I have some trouble with timing as well but what I realized was that reading faster does not really help. I realized that I run out of time because I get stuck on questions due to poor understanding of passage. It might actually help you to slow down and read the passage analytically. Then you might spend less time on thinking about answer choices and save time.

this works well for me, always left with 10-30 min on practice AAMCs (VR around 2-8 min remaining)
