I'll be starting a full-time job in a competitive lab in July during my gap year. Can you think of any way I can get this onto my application? I know you're not supposed to discuss future activities. Thanks!
pretty much every secondary will ask you what your plans are before medical school. also, if research is what you want to be doing for a whole year, it is definitely important enough to be mentioned in your personal statement.
Thanks, so you wouldn't enter it in the work/ activities section? I've done clinical research for two summers and this will be my first batch of bench research outside of stuff within the college. I think incorporating it somehow makes my application more well-rounded.
I was in the same boat and by the time you get interviews you'll have worked there for months and have plenty to say. It's been a huge positive at interviews thus far.
Either submit your primary after your start your job, write your plans on secondary applications (where applicable), or send update letters to schools in the fall.
