Step II Timing of Step 2 ??

Hi,

Did fine on Step 1 and don't plan a real competitive residency anyway. So. . . I'm taking step 2 on the later side. Still, I don't know what this means. When am I supposed to take Step 2 (ie., what month in my third or fourth year)? I'm in my third year right now.

Your school may have a requirement as to when you have to take the exam. Otherwise there is no particular time to take it. I, and several others took ours after the match. That was nice b/c it made the exam meaningless. But, we were a bit envious of all the people that had finished it early in the year.

Also, better make sure the programs you are applying to dont require it.
