Hey sport, I don't think we need to know this for the mcat, aromatic stuff shouldn't be on there. Whenever I see metal catalyst in organic though, I think electron transfer.

Sn/HCl is used to reduce nitro groups to amines. That's the only time you'll see it in your typical intro course sequence. Probably not so important for the MCAT.
