hi everyone! now that interviews are happening. i was wondering what you are all doing to prep.
i tried prepping for my first but i realized i got very out of the blue unexpected questions so i realized even if i try to prep there will be things that catch me off guard (which is true in all aspects of life haha)
but i was wondering how u guys are prepping and if u have any tips/advice

i want to know what it feels to feel prepared!

relax and be yourself

check youtube, there are a few good/great videos there

Relax and be yourself is easy to say, but interview prep is a good idea. If you are in school, I would suggest reaching out to senior administration and see if they would consider mock interviewing you. Critique from them may go a long way to avoiding easily fixed mistakes. My experience interviewing D4's for residency is that any prep will be better than nothing. Above all else, I believe projecting openness and conscientiousness will go a long way, as well as a serious attitude about taking on this new four year journey. And if there is time for a laugh, take that too.

There are these 100 common interview questions
I copy pasted them and answered each question in a paragraph or two.
Then I read them once or twice and that was that.

This gave me the start, and then during interviews, I did not always stick to what I originally wrote, but I just wasn't surprised by their questions that much and not being surprised will save you a lot of time and frustration.

After the first interview, it comes naturally.

But common questions I got most of the times were:

Tell me about yourself
Why dentistry...
Why our school
Good qualities/ bad qualities of you ( or of dentists)
Tell me about your education ( cons vs pros)
Struggles you faced and how did you handle them

So at least practice your answer for these questions

and needless to say

Be Kind, be humble, and be yourself unless yourself is bad ( then don't show them that!)
