It is still not too late! UT Southwestern will be offering 2 spots for PGY-2 starting 2006 as well as positions for transfers. Direct from the Chairman, UTSW just obtained formal approval last week for 6 positions and will be accepting applications. This will be a bigtime program - spanking beautiful new Radiation Oncology building (with windows!), state of the art equipment, top 10 in NIH funding. Ambitious chairman Hak Choy - recruited from Vanderbilt. New cancer director - James Wilson - recently recruited from Case Western. Medical school affiliated with 4 active Nobel laureates, 15 NAS members, 17 IOM members. Even starting out as a new program, the resources are probably better than 75% of the programs out there.

I am pleased to be able to send you information about our residency program. As I mentioned earlier, we received final approval for 6 positions on February 16, 2005. We are currently reviewing applications for July 2005, and tentatively plan to accept 4 residents. We will begin to review applications for July 2006 in May of this year. If you wish to apply here, please e-mail your CV, medical school transcript, personal statement and two letters of recommendation by April 22. We will be interviewing in June.

I have attached the letter Dr. Choy sent to chief residents in Radiation Oncology programs to announce our program. We will have advertisements in the Red Journal next month.

Please e-mail if you have further questions.
