A few words of advice for people interested in medicine:
Get as much scientific and clinical exposure as you can so you can learn what you like and don't like about science/medicine. That means you should read books (When the air hits your brain by Frank Vertosick and Phantoms in the brain by V.S. Ramachandran are two that I loved), shadow doctors in clinics and hospitals (just shoot an e-mail or ask your own physician), get involved in scientific research (the NIH in Bethesda, MD has a summer program for 16+).
Also, you don't have to major in premed or biology in college to go to medical school. Study something you will enjoy and will improve you. Don't think of everything you do in the context of medical school applications. Rather, take your college experience for what it is!
