Tips for Botany?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Don't take botany if you don't like plants. Just my initial thoughts.

Is it a requirement for your major?

Believe me, if I could skip it I would. But I have to take it for my major. Also I talked to my counselor and she said that our school's Botany+Zoology= Gen Bio 2

Dagger. Sorry 'bout that, bud.

In that case, I recommend to learn as much as you can! If you try to enjoy it -- that is, if you endeavor to - you may just end up loving it.

Probably just stay on top of the material. There's nothing worse than cramming material you don't even find interesting. Who knows, you might end up enjoying it?

Thats how it is for me! My other school had botany and zoology as two separate courses

eat alot of peanuts.
Try and convince @Oso to do the same please.

I didn't like it either. Just try to go in with an open and curious mind. You just have to go through it🙂 GL

You might be surprised. Our school makes us take biodiversity and ecology type of classes too and it turns out that plants are pretty cool. It can't be as boring as all the stupid molecular classes.

Draw lots of detailed pretty pictures or pretend you're learning about humans

I too went into my botany class thinking plants were a bunch of BS.

Turns out they are pretty damn cool -- turned into my favorite class of the semester (not that ochem I or calculus II gave it much competition). Go to classes with a more open attitude and you'll go further in your studies. Almost any field has interesting things about it.
