Here's what I've got:

-Sailing coach 2 years (racing)
-Volunteer work with handicapped sailors (sailed in the boat with them) 2 summers
-International and national level sailor (i was a part of my province and country's youth team for several years) I've been sailing for 10 years
-2 summers of research in genetics
-Volunteer work as a big brother 2 years
-Hospital volunteering 4 years
-Shadowing (surgeon and neurologist) 1 year for the neruologist, and 2 full time weeks with the surgeon

I thought it was a lot at first, but I'm realising now that its nothing really. What areas should I improve on?
I was thinking of maybe joining my program's newspaper, or maybe starting up some little charity thing or whatever.
Thoughts?

Can you edit in the time spans for each?

Add shadowing a PCP

It looks fine. Besides shadowing a PCP, I don't really have much. How many people were you coaching at sailing? I'm looking for a leadership activity

Once you add your other hobbies and any honors/awards/scholarships, you will have a pretty decent list

All right thank you! i was coaching 10 kids at a time, and travelled with them to competitions and all that, so hopefully that'll be considered a leadership position!
as for awards, well i only have sailing awards, and they're stating to get a little old to put on my CV now (6 to 4 years old :S )

How old were the kids? Leadership for med school applications is talking about peer leadership. It's certainly a very fascinating EC though

my first year, they were 7 to 16 (mostly younger though), and my second year they were 13-17 years old, and I was 19 at the time.
so i guess I should try to find some more leadership stuff huh? im not so interested in joining the student government or anything like that; are there any other good ways to demonstrate leadership in my application?
