What is the best technique or method that I should be using for Reading Comprehension?
What I normally do is read over the entire passage first then go to questions #1 then find answer by going back to the passage, then go to question #2 and go back to passage to look for answer.. etc..

The problem is that.. I get like 11/15 right for each passage... but then I never have the time to finish the test..

Can you give me some good tips for doing RC???

Thank you!

Its really all practice. Try them both and do whatevers best. I personally like search and destroy, it helped me get a 24 on RC. For thick articles with facts, just skim and write the point of each paragraph and keywords, and for articles with alot of comprehension try and read quickly and understand whats going on, so you'll be able to answer the "so what if this happened" questions. Its all practice. Dont take this section lightly, practice up till the day of the test! Best of luck, PM for advice if needed.

SnD w/o reading 1st for all except for the tone passages, then you read it

it depends on how well u can remember stuff. me personally, I read the first 8 questions to see what facts, or tones I was looking for. Then i went back to question 1, searched, and answered. IN doing so, I likely came across the answer to question 7. I jumped there and answered it. Repeat until finished, but flag all the "tone/inference" questions til the end. Now, since you have already SnD'd the tone questions are easy. Manage ur time accordingly to finish all the passages.

It all depends on you. I think you'll figure it out with a number of practice tests. I am a fast reader, so the search and destroy method works for me. I managed to get a 20 on the piano passage with this technique.

I'm a very slow reader, and I got a 23 using the method you just described. Just keep practicing. You'll get it.

what helped me was skimming the passage first. while skimming, i numbered paragraphs and wrote 3-6 key words about the paragraph. then when i looked at the questions, i was able to refer back to the passage more quickly, read it for better understanding and answer the question.

What exactly is search and destroy? Do you skim the whole passage first, then do "search and denstroy"?
