Tips for University of Houston interview

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I interviewed there in November, and it is really relaxed. They tried to emphasize that it was a relaxing day for them just to get to know you. I think as long as you show that you are a normal, approachable person, you should be fine!

Thanks for the link!About how long was the interview/day? And were the questions based more on your personality and you, or more based on the optometry field? Im a little nervous since its kinda late in the cycle

The interview is 2:1 so there's a professor and student that joint interviews you. For me, there wasn't enough students so I only had a professor interview me. I'd say the questions from the link above is the best way to prep. I'd say the questions are more personality oriented but they ask optometry field questions to gauge your enthusiasm. Nothing hard though. The day lasted about 4-5 hours. They hand your acceptance at the end of the day...Good luck!

Thanks for the info!! I wonder if they hand out acceptances at the end of interviews to many people or if that's rare
