So it seems that almost every school wants to know why you want to go to THAT school? Any tips on things to say, things not to say, etc? Where can I read about what should be in a good secondary and how I should write them? I really want mine to stand out from the crowd and actually be a good addition to my overall app, instead of just getting through it so I can be interviewed, you know?

Thanks guys!

I remember perusing through some self-help How to get into medical school books and came across one thing not to do, and that was to not list the location as a reason for going to that school. I don't know how reliable this source is, but it seems a lot of people write something like, " I enjoy Chicago, it's a great urban environment, blah blah blah..."

I can understand that for a place like Chicago, where there are multiple schools in the area, but what about cities that you really enjoy that only have one medical school.

I think that is only safe if you have lived in the city before- a city might be great for visiting but living could be different... always figure out what about that schools program appeals to you (considering you will be doing med school before stuff in the city most of the time). Who doesn't want their ego stroked?

Exactly. You need to emphasize how much you love something about their program!
