It didn't feel like such a long test in front while you're sitting there. I felt well prepared. I used Dr. Romano's DAT Destroyer and his class for bio, chem, orgo, and math. I also read the bio in the blue kaplan book, and did all three top score practice tests. I feel like those things prepared me well. The destroyer was great for the chem and orgo, really helped me as you can see. For bio you really just have to read as much as you can from as many relevant sources as possible, So I memorized all the destroyer and top score questions and answers, and read the Kaplan twice over, and had notes on some things from the Kaplan so I could review it at a glance. The destroyer for bio was great because it was in question and answer format which helps one remember better I think, and each question explained the right and wrong answers very well, while top score usually had a very general solution set for each question. For chem and orgo also the destroyer solutions are much clearer, while topscore is more of a blanket answer and sometimes not formatted textually very well for the screen and therefore harder to follow the math conversions. I've also seen topscore repeat solutions for different bio questions because it was like a general bunch of topic sentences on that topic so could answer diff questions. Overall most of the questions you'll see in practice tests from kaplan/top score/ destroyer may be harder than the real test, but thats a great way to prepare you.
If you want to do well just stick to those sources, because I really knew no other outside information going into the test, just lock yourself in an airconditioned room for a month or two and pound those books and you should be fine.
I can't really talk about PAT, because after talking it over with my friends it seems like I have a better sense of understanding of those things than others, but I would say read over the directions in the barrons book and it might help and just try to recognize symmetry for the hole punch and front end view, pay attention to minor details in the keyhole, and pay attention to which shaded parts connect for the folding- like if side A is half shaded and its a rectangle and you see that the shaded portion is touching a white side, then it must be touching like that when it folded also. Best way to do cubes is a tally of the whole figure first, column by column, and then go through each block first, then answer the questions, it seems like its time wasting, but its actually very effective. I skipped the angles for the end and went back and did all of them in around 5 min. I stink at angles. sometimes you can see little squiggly lines that look like they are going outwards or inwards on the angle so can say the ones going out are bigger and going in is smaller, but I can't guarantee that.

for reading- I went straight to the questions and looked for the answers, skimming the articles and taking note of where i saw something in the article- most of the questions were in order, but some send you back to the middle or beginning of article and you have to remember where that information was when you scanned it over beforehand. I would not read the whole article and then go answer questions because it is very time consuming. If you don't like my way at least look at the first question and then read from the beginning for the answers, then go to 2nd question and keep reading. Eventually you'll cover the whole thing and remember if you read the answer yet or have to keep reading. dont waste your time reading the whole thing through. You're not photographic memoried and will forget it. guaranteed.

Sum up-
Get the destroyer- orgoman.com
get topscore-scholarware.com
get kaplan blue book- and see if you can get some kaplan practice tests from somewhere.
Its worth the extra hundred fifty bucks to do well and get into school and maybe get scholarships.
If you're in New York/New Jersey, maybe try to get to Dr. Romano's tutoring service- he really hooked me up for the orgo and gen chem. For bio he gave me a third of the info i went in with to go along with the topscore questions and kaplans book.

You know, when I first joined this forum reading all these nice comments, I wanted to buy the DAT destroyer to get more practise for the real test too, but the problem is that it is ridiculously expensive. If you keep advertising for Dr Romano, tell him to lower the price, bc we are paying a heck of a lot for AADSAS, and secondary Applications, we cant afford any more. The person who success in his business is the one who listen to his customers. Good luck

Wow, really incredible scores. The big question I have is, What parts of biology did you see the most? i.e- genetics, ecology, etc? Also, with organic chemistry, did you see many IR NMR readings? Congratulations

Bio was a lot of general questions on diff topics, not many very specific topics, there was one or two evolution, a few respiration and excretion, I can't recall much else. Something about what happens when you are bleeding a lot to your blood pressure or volume or something like that. I think there was some ecology. There was some genetics also. I can't remember exact questions. Sorry

I don't know if it's my place to tell him what to charge, but I do understand your concerns about monetary issues. You should know that it's probably worth it, seeing how well his students do. I'm not advertising for it, I was just listing what I used for others to see so they can help themselves.
Call him and see what he says about the price. It probably costs him some money to get it printed and bound, so he's probably just trying to cover the cost and make some profit. And again, it's worth it.

Just to note, I was not asking for exact qustions. I don't want them. I was just wondering which parts were most prevelant on your exam. Whatever the case, great scores once again.
