I remember reading that someone called ADA, and that they said that we can do whatever we want with the paper!

I don't know what to believe! I would call them though, and ask them yourself. They're the ones that are in charge, not the proctors at the Sylvan Testing Center!

Has anyone ever found out if tearing off a piece of paper and using it as a ruler is legal?

I took the DAT on Saturday and had no problem using the paper any way I wanted to. I asked specificly if I could touch the screen and hold paper up to it and they said go right ahead. On the angle ranking I used the corner of my scratch paper to help me figure them out!
