I did not have a single titration problem on any of my dat practice exams..I had one on dat achiever...
it was like..
how much of 0.1 M HCl should be added to neutralize 20 ml of NaOH to pH2...?
that is the hardest one..
Okay..the way you go about solving this is that..
u need 20 ml of HCl to get it to pH 7 then you need...to add watver to get it from pH 7 to pH 2..
so its a dillution prob now..b/c you are with 0.1 M [H+] in HCl and want to go to pH 2..which has a H+ of 1e-2..so how much of 0.1M HCl would you add to get to a [] of 1e-2
(0.1M) (X) = (1e-2)(40+x)
solving for x gives you 0.4 so..a total of 20.4ml of HCl...
this is from achiever...I dint have one single titration problem on my exam..so dont worry..these are more MCAT oriented...
