Any TiVo users out there excited about the new soon-to-be-released HD TiVo?

I'm looking forward to it, as I'll probably be buying an HDTV in the near future.

The Mac version of Tivo-to-Go should be released in mid-2006. This will be a welcome edition to be able to download TiVo shows to my laptop, or to my desktop and have them automatically sync onto my video iPod.

Will this work with the DirecTV Tivo?

I am very excited about this because even though I have service for HD, it sucks that whenever the signals get to the TV, they are downgraded to regular signals because of my Tivo. As such, I haven't been able to fully enjoy the tv experience, quality wise that is. Aside from that, Tivo has been a great friend thus far in medical school and helps me focus on studying instead of worrying about missing TV shows. 👍 👍

Is this different from what Eye-TV's products would do? Or is it if you already have TiVo?

I believe Eye-TV is for computers. TiVo is a standalone unit. HD TiVo is a different unit from regular TiVo. HD should be available in the third quarter of this year.
