Looking at how TMDAS calculates GPA, the website mentions they use the four point scale of 4.0, 3.0, etc. Does this mean that your undergrad GPA at a university which gives out A- and B+ type of grades are going to automatically be switched to that scale? Can anyone with experience with TMDAS speak of this? I'm not sure if the + and - on grades would be irrelevant when it comes to Texas or not.

Did that work as an advantage in your case?

Count up your grades with a (+) and grades with a (-). If you have more pluses than minuses, it will hurt you. You just need to recalculate a TMDSAS GPA to know where you are at.

How would it hurt me? Wouldn't that just mean I worked harder but still have the same A someone else does?

It would hurt you because if you had 8 (just an example) B+s and 4 A-s, and your ugpa was a 3.8 based off of the different values given for +/-, your gpa would be lower, because the 3.3 ( I think) you would have gotten for the + would be converted back into the 3.0. So yeah you worked harder for the same grade, which would hurt you.

Oh, gotcha. For some reason I thought that statement was applying to my situation of having more A+s than having A-s and it being able to hurt me, that's why I was confused. It's really case dependent then.

Yup. My TMDSAS GPA was higher than my AMCAS GPA because I had a bunch of minus grades and fewer plus grades.
