I just wish I had a more precise date of the offers. I heard it was, maybe, sometime in January. First week, then second week, now Im hoping third week. Just the vagueness of it is killing me.

Anyone hear anything from UTDB?? It looks like they sent out there second round of acceptances this time last year and also this time the year before. Please let us know if you hear anything or know anybody whos heard anything 🙂

During the interview they said acceptances are sent out via email, to the same email address ur interview invite was sent to! Did anybody hear any news today?? Esp from UTDB??

Hey Maleni, I was wondering the same thing!! I kind of want to call and find out if the Ad Comm has met yet, or if they have a timeline...I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens!!
My sense is that UTDB had an unusually high percentage of first-rounders accept, thereby leaving an unusually low number of seats left to fill. Since UTDB is still interviewing (or finished this Monday?), I'm guessing they want to get through all the interviews and then hand out the few slots still available. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case, since a lot of interviewees had very positive impressions of UTDB, esp with the new state-of-the-art building opening next year.
Just my thoughts, could be wrong.

Hey GoBeaux word on the street is that UTDB only sent out 40-50 acceptances on Dec 1st, thus leaving another 40-30 which remain to be filled. I interviewed post Dec 1st, and during the interview they said that they'll be interviewing until mid February, and that from this point on we can consider admissions on a rolling basis. But in the past they have always started the second round of acceptances around this time in January and continuing on until April/May. Anyone want to do paper, rock, scissors to see who should call Ms. Pinales and politely "inquire" about the next round of acceptances 😀

Hey Icedspice im trying to breathe lol😀!! Its a bit difficult right about now!! Im actually a nontraditional student I graduated in 08 and had a career!! I soooo want to get into Houston because thats were my hubby works and where we have our house etc!! Sooooo at this point in time the stress level is super high haha!! I did call the admissions office today and they said that they havent sent out the second round yet and that it should go out by the first wk of Febuary which is next week eeeeek!!! So for all my fellow cyber stalkers out there maybe we'll have heard something by this time nxt week

focus on good energies 🙂 sounds silly but i had gotten a dream before taking my dats that I got accepted into Baylor... I didn't realize it, but I ended up carrying that positive attitude with me and kicked BUTT on the dats!
everybody here has put in their best... so instead of fretting, just go out for happy hour sushi or watch grey's anatomy (GAAAH which they dont have new episodes of...even this week!) or SIT in a park with a book.
do it now. because guess what. once you start dental school (which you will), you will not have time for those things :|

Doubtful that they only sent out 40-50 acceptances on 12/1 (That seems way too low, even if you assume that a very high 75% of those chose to accept UTDB, that would leave at least 45 seats left to fill, i.e., more than half the class). Word on the street where I stay is that they have less than 20 seats left to fill, and with those remaining slots, it's going to be more likely that they give out most of those to ppl who haven't received an acceptance elsewhere. Don't think they'd want to unnecessarily prolong the process with so few slots left.

So only ~35 acceptances? Maybe he meant that they hope to fill about 40%, given that some ppl who UTDB sends acceptances to end up choosing Baylor, SA, and a few out-of-state schools. I think the UTDB 2015 FB page already has 50 or so ppl

Yeah a big chunk of the people on the class of 2015 page are from class of 2014. There are ~20 of us from 2014 on that page. Plus you have to consider that not a lot of people are on studentdoctor.net so they probably haven't heard about the fb page. I would say maybe around half to a little more than half the class has been filled. So keep you chin up, I know that waiting stinks, but like icedspiced mentioned, try to not check sdn too much. Concentrate on positive things and things will work out in the end.

They had minde scheduled for Feb 7th so it looks like they are just scheduling a week or so in advance. I would keep an eye out on monday around 1-2, thats when I received mine.

Nope. I haven't heard anything yet. Their last interview date was yesterday, Monday February 7th from what I understand. This is what a friend of mine told me, who interviewed that day. I assume they should be making their decisions and sending out more letters soon...

fyi, our school was closed on friday because of the weather. I don't know whether it is then that they usually decide about the applicants in order to mail out the offers on Monday... so if thats a case, give them some lee way 🙂

I also received an acceptance to UTDB! Congratulations to those who have heard and don't lose the faith people! Keep your applications strong and keep updating them and email them your updates (i.e. research, community service..) It truly does make all the difference!
