I got both interviews yesterday! I'm actually quite surprised because my last letter of recommendation was received by TMDSAS only three days ago, and I thought it would take forever to process. I'm hoping that Houston will get start sending their invites soon because they're my first pick! Good luck, everyone!

Hmmm this makes me nervous. I am a TX residents with 3.36 oGPA 3.4 sGPA 22AA/23TS/24 PAT with app submitted in May but did not get any invites on Friday.

Anyone know how often San Antonio or Baylor send out invites or how many were sent Friday?

I'm interviewing at Baylor on 8/29. Unfortunately, that is the Friday of the first week of school for me haha, but good thing I don't have class on Fridays!

I'm not sure if you're referring to me, but I attend one of the UT schools. Won't say which one for sake of privacy.

Just a quick question... in the great state of TX, our DAT scores can last up to 5 years. Did they change this? Always thought it was 3.

Was there anymore interviews? my application finally got transmitted to the three dental schools. Now I am just waiting!
 
My application was transferred to schools on 06/23.. Haven't heard anything yet! little worried!

Dear John Doe,

The Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry has received your TMDSAS application.

Admissions interviews are granted on a competitive basis and will be held beginning in mid-August. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified by email two to three weeks in advance of the interview date. You will then be required to confirm your interview date. More details will be included in the invitation email if you are invited for an interview.

If you have taken the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) since the time that you submitted your TMDSAS Application you may send a copy of the unofficial DAT scores directly to our office so that they may be added to your application. You may either send a copy of your scores by fax to (214)874-4521 or you may email a scanned copy of your scores to my email address [email protected].

If you wish to verify if your other application materials have been received, such as recommendation letters or transcripts, please check the TMDSAS website.

Please add my email address, [email protected] and the BAMF system email [email protected], to your safe senders list so that any future correspondence does not get placed in your junk/spam email folder (this is especially important if you have a gmail account as we have had problems with gmail sending my email to junk/spam folders in the past).

Hey just a few words to comfort you fine folks who haven't received interview invites yet. I applied last year to all the Texas schools and didn't receive an interview invite until Dec. 4!! I was accepted in Jan, but some of my class mates didn't get their acceptances until much later then that.

I can tell you that Baylor fills their class first, then SA, and then Houston.

Do they fill it all up at once first Monday of December for Baylor?
 
Sort of, but that doesn't mean you can't get in. Baylor sends out enough acceptances to fill its class on the first go-around. Not everyone is going to accept their invitations, some people also change their minds after accepting. So spots can open up until the first day of class. That literally happened in Houston a couple of years ago according to the head of student affairs there. Some lucky sap got a phone call the day before orientation asking if he would like to attend.

I have a lot of shadowing experience and work experience as a Dental Assistant. Lots of volunteer hours, etc.

I'm hoping I at least get an interview!! Fingers crossed 🙂
 
Anyone know if Texas schools have a cut off for any section of the DAT? I'm worried about my QR.
