Unfortunately, I have no idea. He didn't say. The elevator ride was very brief. After mentioning to me about the admissions meeting, he said that it was also his 75th birthday and he will be celebrating it, lol. He got off after that. However, you can always email Dr. PWhen will they be sending the last invites out?
I think that's the cheerful older gentleman who interviewed me! Sounds like him. 🙂Unfortunately, I have no idea. He didn't say. The elevator ride was very brief. I haven't browsed the pre-dental forum in a long time, but i just found this out today in case anybody might be interested. I was in the elevator today at the dental school on my way to meet with a faculty member. An older gentleman got in and just told me that today was the day they had the last admissions meeting to decide who to send out mass-acceptances to.
Turns out they're off on Monday, so now it'll probably be Tuesday. Ugh.So UTSD hopefully sends good news on Monday...

Last year UTHSCSA also sent out acceptances on valentines day (which was a Saturday) but since it's Sunday this year... maybe it's automated. We'll see!
You won't get a rejection until May or June. They still have to wait until accepted people accept/reject the offer. They also have to make a waitlist. There's still time though. I hope you hear something from them soon.🙂If we didn't get it today, is that pretty much it? I'm still hoping for Houston, but I need to start apartment hunting. I wish they would just send a rejection letter, it's better than this limbo.

I'm pretty sure UTSD is done interviewing.Does that mean if people who have not interviewed are still in the running? lol

Not sure. I've heard of people getting accepted a week before classes started at UTSD.(off of the waitlist)Yeah, I know. The only reason this process is so grueling is because it's so ambiguous. We are all so used to figuring out the details of every process like how to study for the DAT, how to get an A in Orgo, the STEPS OF GLYCOLYSIS, haha. There's no magic formula or exact statistic that'll guarantee you a spot in dental school. The cryptic nature of it all bothers me so much.
How much of a chance does one have off a waitlist?
Same and same.Got accepted to UTSD! Most likely will turn down the offer...

Pre-Dec interview, for those who are interested.
Yes, sorryDid y'all receive your emails at 10am as well? #desperate
I thought the acceptance goes out sometimes in March? Also, any news from UTHSCSA?
Our deadline to accept/decline is March 2nd so probably the Monday after (the 7th).Does anyone have an idea of when or if there will be a next round of acceptances sent out from Houston?

Slight topic change, does anyone know what the construction across the street from Baylor is going to be? There was THIS article from May 2015 about a ton of bond approvals one of which was:
"Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, $72 million for a dental clinic facility at the Baylor College of Dentistry and $72 million for the construction of a multidisciplinary research and education facility in Bryan."
And there's been that construction across the street for awhile now... and just recently on the Texas A&M BCD facebook a scaffolding company posted pictures of the construction:
COULD IT BE!? 😱
Well that's awesome! Any other details or an opening date? I'm guessing (hoping) 2020 students will get use of it.During my interview session I asked about that. He said it was the new BCD dental school.
🤣Yeah.Well that's awesome! Any other details or an opening date? I'm guessing (hoping) 2020 students will get use of it.
We've decided on Baylor so that's excellent news. 🙂
EDIT: You changed your profile pic... I was wondering who the new poster was for a second...
Well that's a bummer...🤣Yeah.
My interviewer told me it won't be finished before class of 2020 graduates unfortunately 🙁.
I guess this means i'll get to meet you and your wife soon. 😉
Ugh! I'm at a point that I don't care anymore ! It's just getting depressing !
Did baylor already send out second round of acceptances?I think you will have a great chance! There are a few spots available at Baylor, but not many. There are plenty spots at San Antonio as well! If you think the interview went well, then your chance of getting in is decent! I know someone that interviewed all three Texas schools pre-December and got into all three from March-May!
Oh wow ! So lucky!!! This cycle has been sooooooooooo stressful ! Who knows what they are looking for !I think you will have a great chance! There are a few spots available at Baylor, but not many. So I emailed Ms. Pledger today asking about the second round and she said that this year, they "have had a large positive response to our first round so the Dental Admissions Committee has decided to wait until much later in the semester to meet and send 2nd round offers" at the end of April. So basically I'm guessing that if any seats do open up at Baylor, it won't be many 🙁 Last year, they already had waitlist invites sent out by this time in February. I'm not sure if this is because they sent out more offers this cycle than last year, or because more people are picking Baylor over the other two schools.Did baylor already send out second round of acceptances?
congrats...are you staying close to home ...aggieland
Yeah... I'm from Houston. The Texas Medical Center is much nicer. Are any of you from the Dallas area? I couldn't help noticing, but the area around BCD gave me the heebie jeebies.

I just chose it for the price tag. For me location wise Houston>SA>Dallas. their facilities are inferior to Houston and SA. Honestly I really don't know why people choose it over the other two.I'm wondering why baylor is chosen over houston and SA. Can someone shed some light on that? i know location of family and friends plays a big factor, but that aside what about the school overall?
