Sorry if this is confusing. I am a resident of Texas, and TMDSAS wants to receive my LOR's, but do does AADSAS.

My professors and dentist will be sending them in to AADSAS. But how will TMDSAS be getting the LOR's if their being sent to AADAS?

If I remember correctly, your LOR's should be turned in to interfolio. Then have interfolio forward your letters/packet to both TMDSAS and AADSAS.

Interfolio and TMDSAS are not working together this year. Read the application instruction for LOR..

either way using interfolio would be the easiest way to handle this.

if your profs and dentists are directly submitting their LORs to AADSAS, then you have to ask them to make another copy of it and send them to TMDSAS too which I am pretty sure busy dentist/profs would not love to do.

Just open up an interfolio account and tell them (professors/dentist) to upload it there. And from the interfolio website, you can send your LORs to however many places you want (this will be helpful for other cases too since you'll have all your documents in file)

Iphieok, Did not you receive the email saying: "The Texas Medical and Dental School Application Service (TMDSAS) application for last year's (entry year 2010) application cycle was hosted by Interfolio, Inc. Beginning with the entry year 2011 application cycle, the TMDSAS application will no longer be hosted by Interfolio." I don't think you can utilize them this year unless they are holding your documents from last year.

oh well although i am not applying this year so i did not receive that email, it does not really matter whether TMDSAS is hosted by Interfolio or not.

Year before last year (TMDSAS 2009 cycle, and for that matter all the other years except for the last year which was the major epic fail for TMDSAS) was not hosted by Interfolio but pretty much all the students used Interfolio in order to keep/send their LORs.

Interfolio is an online-based company that works like an online archive for your documents, and it has nothing to do with TMDSAS other than the fact that TMDSAS used its service last year. You can upload any kind of documents to your account and you can send them to anywhere however many times you want because they will send out confidential copies of those uploaded documents. In this way, you can send one LOR from your prof to more than one place (remember you might need these LOR's for reasons other than just for your TMDSAS/AADSAS applications. I used them for my dental assistant job and for my scholarships, which would have been impossible unless I had a way of having them electronically)

All you have to do is go to My Documents under Interfolio and check all the LOR's you want to send and send them out to TMDSAS address.

lphiewok is right, as long as you upload the appropriate LOR matching forms for TMDSAS and AADSAS to interfolio you should be good to go.

What I don't understand is how precisely Interfolio is supposed to work in terms of the TMDSAS / AADSAS matching forms. I'm applying through both services.

First off, am I supposed to use Interfolio's "Confidential Letter of Recommendation" document type for my TMDSAS LOR's?

Am I correct in thinking that I should send TWO different Interfolio request forms to my professor, one asking for his actual letter, and the other asking for the filled-in TMDSAS Evaluation Form? (Interfolio offers a document type called "Confidential Evaluation". Is that what I should use for this second Interfolio request form?)

Could I then have Interfolio bundle the two items from my professor together (LOR + TMDSAS Eval Form) and send it to TMDSAS?

What about for AADSAS? Do the AADSAS LOE matching forms have info that has to be filled out by the professor? or is it just a unique PDF for identification purposes?
